My name is Ali Akrouf. First Before writing about what is important to me, I would like to talk about my past where I am form, Where I was born, and my life till today. I was born in my Kansas City, my father uses to study dentistry in Kansas, So I was born in Kansas. Afterwards my father moved to Buffalo NY. To complete his studies, So I spent 6 years in Buffalo. After my father graduates and got his bachelors and Masters. We went back to Kuwait my Hometown. At first everything was new to me the people who are my family my cousins, uncles, aunts, and my grandparents were complete strangers to me. More over to know that I had a huge family was something really amazing and made me really happy. A hint about my family from my mother’s side I have five uncles and four aunts, and from my dad’s side I have one uncle two aunts, and 3 cousins who are about my age. How ever when I went back to Kuwait, I was not fluent in Arabic so when I was young that made me feel a little bit left out, but everyone was really helpful. I remember when I was in an Arabic class in second grade, I wrote my essay from left to right I failed that exam, but the teacher was really helpful she taught me a lot also she was really helpful. After I finished high school at the age 17, I got a scholarship. So, I decided to follow my fathers foot steps and I came to the United states to get my degree in Civil Engineering. When I arrived here, I figured out that over the time I spent in Kuwait I got fluent in Arabic that I lost a lot of my English, So I went to Arizona State University to learn English. Moreover, after one year I was Accepted in Western Kentucky University As a civil Engineering student. It was a lot of fun. When I turned 19 after 2 years of studying, I decided to get married and I got married. At the age 21 I was blessed with a beautiful daughter. But after she was born my daughter and wife had to go back due to immigration purposes, and I needed 2 more years to get my degree. So as a father I had to endure two years away from my family in order to graduate and provide a living for my family. However thankfully time has passed and I just graduated from Western Kentucky university I just need two more classes this English class and a music class which hopefully I will finish this summer. As to who is my role model in life my father is my role model. To know how much he went through for us, and how he spent most of his life working and studying I would give anything to become a man like him. More over what usually keeps me up at night and the thought that I carry with me every day is I want to be a person that my family would look up to, and provide a good and happy life. My future goal is to get my masters degree and to get my PHD, to be able to work in Kuwait’s research facility labs.
My Best friend:
My best friend’s name is Abbas. I met him when I was in first grade, So he has been my best friend since childhood. He Knows all my secret and I know everything about him. If I wanted to describe him I would describe him as my brother rather than my best friend, and to be honest I can not describe my friend in a couple sentences I would need pages to do that.
If I had 3 wishes what would I wish for:
The first is to wish for a good health for me and my family, because nothing can be compared with being healthy. I would wish for 1 billion dollar , because at this time and age money gives you power you can make a difference with it. the 3rd wish would be nothing, I would save it for another day.
What I Wish I can do this Summer:
I wish I could go back home to surprise my family. I really wish I can see the look on my fathers face when he sees me holding my degree entering the house. I will go put my degree underg his feet and tell him if it weren’t for him I would have never been able to do it, and that I would be under him helping him with whatever he needs until the day I die. I would also like to bring my mother a gift to see a smile on my parents face means the world to me. I would give anything do anything to see a smile on their face.
Which Actor would I chose to play me in a movie and why?
If I were to chose an actor to play me in a movie I would have to chose Will Smith. I think he is a great actor. In that sense he would be able to tell my story, moreover he would tell it in a funny way.
Something i can not live wihout
I think I am addicted to coffe. I have to drink coffee everyday. I really can not start my day without it.
My favorite food:
My favorite dish is kabsa. It is a traditional Kuwaity dish. It is chicken with rice. It is greasy but very good. You first have to boil the chicken and add spices to it. After the chicken is coocked take it out pf the boiling water put it in a pan. Get it in to the oven broil until the skin crisps a littel. Use the water that you cooked the chiken in to make the rice.
What I am seeing hearing and tasting right now:
I am currently in the class room hearing other students tap on their keyboards. I am looking at the screen directly seeing the letters being typed on my screen. I can not smell anything I am sick.
The scariest thing I have ever seen:
I was in Malaysia my family were on a trip. So we went to an island in malaysia called Langkawi we went on this boat trip and there was a scuba diving course. So naturally i decided to take it. When I want down to the water the instructor taught me a couple of hand signs that would mean diefferent sea. so we went diving as we went under suddenly I see something huge coming our way. The instructor holds his hand up, I look closesly at it and he was telling me not to move. I look the other way and there was a shark. Right away I stop moving the shark is facing us he looks at us for a few second then leaves . these few seconds were like years to me I remembered every shark movie I have ever seen.
If I could choose to visit a place , where and why?
I would choose to go to Najaf. It is a city in Iraq. There I can visit the holy shrine of the prince of believers Ali the son of abu talib ( may peace be upon him) .

Ideal Job
My Ideal job is to open my own civil engineering company. I really would like to do my own business. Instead of making someone else rich I would rather to work on something that my children will inherit
. If i can describe myself in 3 words what would they be and why?
I would describe myself as calm, courageous, and kind. Because i always stay calm at the toughest situations. I am not afraid to leave my people and family to learn and get my degree. Also able to learn new cultures. Kind because i feel for other people’s pain , and i really hope i can get to help other people with their problems
Reaction on Black fish:
That movie was one of the most amazing seen that I have seen so far. It really moved me, and at the same time I felt angry. The main reason that made me angry is that humans can be really ignorant. For the sake of money some people would do anything. When you see a person is killed by a whale because some one else just wants to make money out of it is disgusting. Specially when you see them covering up the story just for their own sake, and on top of that they go as far as to blame the killed trainer for money. To me the movie is not just about whale it was a reality flash that shows you how the real world runs. In my opinion the whales should be free. One of the people in OSHA said I can not imagine a world without a sea world, and to me that was the stupidest thing I have ever heared ,because we have something called the sea. I do not blame the whales they are called killer whales no matter how smart they are in the end they run on their instinct. When a killer whale is hungry in the sea it can eat fish it does not really eat humans, but in a sea world when he goes hungry and fish are not satisfying his hunger to him we became food, for an example imagine you are in a desert with nothing to eat for 3 days, you will eat anything even if it is a snake just to survive but when you have food you would never eat a snake. It is the same concept a killer whale does not eat humans in the wild and he has no reason to be angry with them, but when being locked for years and tortured by use I am not surprise that he would hate us.
What kind of stories I find interesting:
I really love non fiction stories. To be able to read a story made from imagination and learn about a world that anything is possible is fun. I really think non-fiction can also feed your brain , and it can enhance your imagination.
What Would I do in my free time If I did not have to work:
Right now this is the case for me. If I had free time I would love to work. If possible I would love to get myself a farm. Plant it buy a herd of animals. I always found nature calming.
Funny story:
During my high school graduation ceremony I was walking to get my degree from the dean. walking on the stairs to get on stage. Really confident suddenly. I fall on my face, and instead of getting up I just sat on the stairs, and laughed my ass of. the funny thing is after I got up I went to the principle . I told him be careful don’t fall down and make us look stupid. He did not give me my degree.
